Driving Directions to Red Bay

I am visiting at Sheboygen WI, (just north of Milwalkie) and heading to Red Bay AL to take a tour of the Tiffin factory. I will be leaving on Mon 10/5. What route is best to take. I'm hoping to avoid going thru Chicago.

Find I65 to Birningham, AL then 78/I22 north to Red Bay. Dave

Shorter Way?

While I agree with the previous post of taking I-65 South to Birmingham then north to Red Bay will get you there, if you are coming down from a point north of Alabama, there may be a better alternate route. I live in Huntsville, AL and own a Tiffin, have been to Red Bay 3-4 times. The Huntsville/Decatur exit off I-65 is roughly 75-miles north of Birmingham, a fair amount of time and fuel. If you exit I-65 at the Huntsville/Decatur (aka I-565/Alt. Rte. 72 interchange) and go west a few miles to Decatur, I think you will find Hwy 24 runs almost due west from Decatur, AL to Red Bay, AL. For the most part, it's RV-friendly 4-lane but does have a few miles of construction scattered along. Only traffic hold-up will be just as you cross the TN River into Decatur and turn right to follow Alt 72. During peak traffic, that's a 1-mile crawl exercise.
These comments are from my trip Sept. 17, 2015.
If you've never had the Tiffin "Red Bay Experience", you are in for ....... An experience.
Hope this helps, safe travels!
