Electric trailer brakes

I decided to change my brakes on the Razor trailer from surge brakes to electric brakes. I toned out the the electric brake wire on the 7 pin but it appears that it only goes to the fuse panel in the shore power cable bay. And it appears to stop there. I could spend hours looking for the wire to the dash but thought I would ask someone who has already done it. 2006 Allegro bus.

It could be that's as far as was originally wired. You might have to extend wire from that fuse to the brake controller you install.

Bill-

Here's a link to a Google search of iRV2 posts for the terms "trailer," "electric brake" and "Allegro Bus."

Here is what I found today. There is a Bussmann fuse/relay box located in the shore power compartment. This relay box sends the signals to the left/right turn and the marker lights. It also has back up lights and ignition relays.

Here is how it works. There is a small wire running from the light switch and the turn indicators to the shore power compartment. This wire has the voltage but very little current on it. This small wire trips a relay in the Bussmann and sends 12v down a 12 gauge wire (not sure of the size) to the 7 pin connector. This is done so that the manufacture doesn't have to run several 8 or 10 gauge wires from the front of the cab to the connector on the rear of the coach.

Here is the problem. The trailer brake pin on the 7 pin connector is a red with a white strip wire. It is a Chrysler part. This wire goes into the harness but when I ohm it out a the shore power compartment, it is tied directly to the right turn signal. This means that if I had hooked up my trailer with electric brakes, every time I turn on my right blinker, the trailer brakes would lock up and pulse on and off. Not good.

Would Tiffin allow this to be wired this way? I plan on calling tomorrow to find out what they actually did to the wiring. It would seem to me that there is a junction box under the bed where they joined these wires together. But why? Has anyone had experience with this? Please let me know.

Update:

I called Tiffin today and they told me to talk to Freightliner. Called Steve at Freightliner and he sent me a schematic of the wiring for the electric brakes. He told me where the pigtail was and I found it under the dash on the left side. The previous owner had something installed in there because there were several scotch locks wrapped around the wires. I can't figure out why the reading for the right turn signal was coupled with the brake pin but for now I am just going to chalk it up to possible alligator clip shorting. Anyway here is the schematic if you are interested in it and I plan to test it in the next couple of days.
