Engine Access

We have an 2009 Allegro Bus and I am looking for the simplest process to open the engine bay access from the bedroom. Is there a release somewhere or is the access pried open? Thanks

Pull off the grill on the front of you closet as the hatch extends back there. There are also 4 screws buried in the carpet that you have to feel for and then pull up. Then the hatch will pry up fropm the forward end.

There are screws holding that panel in front of the closet that have to be removed in order to remove the panel. Mine has 8 screws that have to be removed on the access panel in the floor. They hide screws so I had to use a magnet to find all of them.

Even with all the screws removed if the hatch cover has never been removed you will need to pry it up with a small pry bar as there is a seal that is almost glued probably due to engine heat.

When I replaced my hatch I got plastic screw covers for each screw so I would never have to search again, they come in many colors and almost matched the carpet. Noticeable but DW approved makes the job much easier the next time !
