Extended Warrantee

I think we are about to order our new RED 37PA coach and have a question about extended warrantees.
Do you have one?
Who do you have it with?
What does it cover?
Are they worth it?
Thanks.

IMHO, NO the extended warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on.....poor value of insurance for the possibility you MIGHT need it. If you are buying a new coach, you most likely have a one-year manufacturers warranty. We got ripped off by Wholesale Warranties

Don't have one. It is my understanding that Tiffin does not honor extended warranties.

How did you get "ripped off"?

I do not have one and choose not to. I can do a lot of repair for the $15,000 the policies would have cost on the last two new coaches.

Most will list what they won't cover.

IF you are more comfortable with one, do not buy it from the dealer. You are covered bumper to bumper for the first year when most "bugs" will be worked out. If you buy a four year policy from the dealer, you are really only getting three years of coverage. Wait until the end of the first year, then buy one. The chassis is covered for three years and the engine/transmission for five.

If they are worth it is a matter of your comfort level. If you can do some of the repair work yourself, then probably not.

Thank you. Yes I had already thought if we did get a policy it would be for after the first year.
Is that chassis and engine warrantee on all Tiffin DPs?

That's Freightliner, Cummins and Allison warranties and the Tiffin Power Glide is the same. I'm not sure about the Breeze, but the others are the same.

Don't the ISB's only come with 3 years?

From the ISB 6.7 page on the Cummins site:

Peace of Mind – With a standard 5 year/100,000-milebase warranty and optional full engine coverages up toeight years, we've got you covered.

Gotcha. I just remembered seeing three years when I was checking out Cummins warranty a week or so ago. Didn't know what AD was, just remembered the three years.

Also, I think freightliner gives a three year warranty on drivetrain, but I guess that's separate from the Cummins warranty. Does Alison also have a five year warranty, separate of the freightliner warranty?

Thank you all for your input. I will have to look at the engine/drive train warrantee more closely.
And thinking more about it we have a year to decide on an extended warrantee, so that is on the back burner.
AND today we are placing our order for a new Tiffin 37PA!

I'm also interested in hearing how you got ripped off by Wholesale Warranties. I've read nothing but good about them and recommended them to my sister (I haven't used them, although I did talk to them and get a quote).

We bought a policy through wholesale Warrenties when we bought our 2014 Phaeton . We have had nothing but good experiences with them in fact it has more than doubled what I paid for it. I recommend them.
