Extended Warranty

Hello all,
I need to make a decision on an extended warranty. The one we are looking at is Cornerstone Advantage.
Does anyone have any dealings with this outfit?
Thanks,
Stevie

For any real repairs, we have Tiffin in Alabama do them. One problem we found with our Wholesale Warranties plan is that they require upfront estimates before they will approve the repairs. Tiffin's policy is that they do not do pre-estimates, and will not deal with any extended warranty company. We learned a lesson on our $4K/7year extended warranty policy. Good Luck, and read all the small print.

From my experience extended warranties are good to have, but will only be of value if you some major problem like a/c units, etc. go out. Small things aren't worth the time arguing with the warranty company. Find a local rv tech that will do repairs for you.

Save your money! Put that $4k toward future repairs......And advice to those who bought a new rig, don't purchase the extended warranty until your factory warranty is just about up.

For me it depends on your level of risk tolerance. But first you have to understand all the basic warranties that are already included with your purchase. The engine, the chassis, the applicances, the tires, etc.. all have their own warranty that last anywhere between 1 to 3 years and possibly more (dealers do not emphasize on included warranties). I personnally think that these type of products (extended warranties) have been created to make money from consumers and therefore are not worth it. Ask your dealer how much kick back he is getting from selling these type of products. And I always like how fear is used to make you buy one. I bought multiple cars and other products and always decline extended warranty and I am glad I did, so far I can afford unexpected breakdonw and repair. I guess if manufacturer stands behind their product then they are build to povide customer satisfaction and last beyond the extended warranty offered. At the end of the day it is still your personal decision.

if extended warranties weren't profitable to the companies that offer them - they wouldn't offer them.

That whole "we need to see an estimate before we approve" is frustrating at best. In my experience they decline more work than they approve

I couldn't agree more. If you're not like me & have the cost of the warranty to flush down the drain then go for it. Most of the places I've talked to for service & repairs won't accept or deal with these warranty companies since they're a rip off & they rarely get paid for their services.

I have purchased through Wholesale Warranties. The name is Portfolio. I have used it several times. Yes, they want an estimate first but they have never denied a needed repair.
The company did send out an inspector to inspect our coach prior to our purchasing of the insurance to make sure everything was working and it was at their expense. Very Pleased.

The earlier you buy your extended warranty the cheaper it is if your rig is new should buy it then we have our warranty through Wholesale Warrenties and it has already paid back half of what I paid for it two years ago
