FMCA Brooksville
I'm a new Tiffin owner & have a lot to learn about my new to me Phaeton. Not having ever attended a FMCA rally, is it something I would benefit from? I've never had an RV and need a lot of accessories. I understand there are a lot of vendors there with show prices. I hope to get some guidance from more experience RVers.

You're likely to enjoy everything about the rally--from the vendors to the seminars to the entertainment to the fellowship to the morning coffees (My wife and I sing with the Maestros Chorus) .... Try it, you'll like it!

Rallies are good places to learn about RVing. However, they may or may not be something which you choose to do very often. There are some RVers who go from rally to rally and that's the primary role their RV serves for them. There are other RVers who rarely will be found at them. Since you're new to RVing you'll learn a lot from this first one. However, with respect to vendors, use the rally as an opportunity to learn what is out there to buy, but use your laptop to check prices. There are plenty of folks online selling the same merchandise often at prices better than you find at a rally. Don't let the hype about "special rally discounts" prevent you from being a knowledgeable consumer.

I agree, I just purchased a tow dolly one line and it was $1100 less (shipping included) then what was being offered at the Louisville RV show.

Same for me at the tampa rv show. I was looking for a certain tow bar and went right to the vender looking for that special show price. His "show price" was insane ; I even had a printout from an online dealer hoping he would match or beat the online price. The price at the show was so out of wack I gasped when he told me. I then went home and ordered online and saved $ 300.00.

Rally's are a great place for learning and fellowship. You will find the occasional great deal from one of the local vendors ready to install at the Rally. That's great for custom items but for the commodity items you can almost always get a better deal over the internet.
Here's a nifty exception. Camping World travels to many of the larger Rally's / Shows and sets up exhibits. On the last day, they will sell you most anything that is out of the box at 50% off. That usually excludes big ticket items like Sat Dishes and such but you can score some great deals on grills, tables, chairs and the like. They don't have the boxes anymore and can't easily resell the items.
We mainly visit Rally's for the friendship, sharing and seminars. Those are things that you cannot get on the internet - at least not in the same quality.
See you at Brooksville!

TVRN Rally in Brunswick
Join 200 other Tiffin owners for a 4-5 day rally at the end of March in Brunswick, GA (8 hour drive east on Hwy 280 to GA coast). You can sign up on the Tiffin RV Network web site. You will learn a lot here.

If you decided to attend the Brooksville Rally I hope you checked out the Tiffin Travelers Chapter of the FMCA. We're really nice folks who have events about 4 times a year (to date always in the east)...
Regardless of Brooksville welcome to the Tiffin Family, you are welcome here!!!

My wife & I joined the Tiffin Travellers on Friday at the afternoon gathering. It seems like a good group.
