Frameless Windows for Allegro Open Road

We have a 2019 Allegro 36 LA on order. My only disappointment is that it doesn't have frameless windows. I have had them on our last two gas motorhomes and really like them. I checked with the Tiffin sales department but was told "only on their diesel coaches. Any rumors as to when they will be offered on the Allegro.

Thanks,

Actually, unless it's a major change for 2019, none of the Tiffin motor homes have true frameless windows. The ones on the Phaeton, Bus and even the Zephyr have frames, they're just painted to match the surrounding design. Our '15 Allegro RED had the same windows yours will have. Our friends have another brand motor home with frameless windows and I don't care for them.

Two friends have frameless windows on their SOB coaches and hate them. You can't open the windows enough to get any ventilation flow on nice days or at night.

Tiffin windows used on the Zephyr, Bus, and Phaeton are a Tiffin design and a pretty darn good windows. They are double paned, but not frameless, per se, and they are not offered on models below the Phaeton even as an option.

Frameless windows (made by Hehr) only look good. The really don't allow much in the way of ventilation.

Agreed. Decided between Open Road and Newmar. One of the negatives for Newmar was the frameless windows. Salesmen pump them up as Godís gift but if youíve had traditional windows that allow Uber air flow through your coach it would be hard to go to a couple inch opening in a downward position.

Of course, to each their own and some love them but it would seem it is a cosmetic love based on looks.

You can easily get more air flow by cutting down the spacer between the rollers where the two arms are in a track. Cut about 1/2 out. Windows open twice as far. And can leave them open in rain.

We really never thought ventilation was an issue with the frameless window. I do think they look sharp and manufactures are sure using them now. One thing I really like is how much easier they are to squeegee clean.
