Generator and running the Air Conditioners.

We have an Allegro Red 33AA, and are just wondering if both air conditioners can be run with the generator, or just one.

Your gen set should handle all your power needs.

How big is your generator? They are usually sized to handle both A/Cs and a few other devices.

It should handle both at the same time with no problem.

The generator handled both ac's quite well, now the newbies have to figure out how to control it at the inverter panel. We have to go back to the dealer this week to have the converter switched out, since Tiffin put in the wrong one. We will get the dealer to give us some instruction. The manual is a bit confusing.

just a warning. I was working on my bus the first year I had it I had the generator running while sitting in my driveway. Both air conditioners on and running the water heater on AC ( part of what I was doing was seeing how well the generator worked with a heavy load) After a couple of hours just sitting the generator shut off with an inverter OT warning. The inverter does not have a cooling fan and can overheat If used heavily in hot weather sitting still. I use mine all the time on the road with no problems. I have a 7500 watt onan quiest diesel by the way

On both 30 and 50 amp RV's with dual Roof A/C the compressor should be able to run both A/C's at the same time, ON 30 amp rigs there may be a switch you need to set in a specific position for this to happen.

Also, on the Generator there are TWO circuit breakers (normally) BOTH must be on.. My onan likes to turn them off, even under light loads.

On 30 amp rigs only one will run on shore power

My manual says its best not to use the 120v hotwater when on generator, not effieicnt and maybe causing a higher draw over circuit.
