Having in motion sat replaced by Travl'r

Just bought a 2020 Red, don't want the in motion sat as we want independent TV's that we can choose what channel to broadcast per TV so I'm going to have it replaced with a Dish Travl'r. I have my own receivers (Not wallys, Hopper 3 w/3 clients)Has anyone does this after sale? Am I asking for trouble? I plan to order this before I take delivery and pick up after the work is done.

I had both travl'r and in motion on my coach when I bought it. It was set up with two Wally's.

I didn't want that so I removed the Wally's and added a Hopper 3 with 2 wireless Joeys. The In motion Tracvision doesn't work with the Hopper 3. No big deal I don't want to use it anyway.

You will need to add a DPH42 switch to have the Hopper work though. It's about $50

Take a look at the writeup from Tech Writer on how to set up the Dish with Hopper 3. Everything you need to know is there. It is very doable. Good luck.

If the coach was pre-wired for a Trav'ler it will be a simple installation. If not, it will require running a six wire control cable through the roof to the Trav'ler, probably from a front upper cabinet.

We have a 2020 45OPP coming next month. My plan is to keep the in motion hooked to Dish and have a traveler installed with Direct Tv as well. The In motion will be connected through a separate 4 way HDMI splitter that I also will connect an Apple TV and an Amazon Firestick.

It's not pre-wired. I bought from Lazy Days in Tampa, (They where the only dealer in the south east that had what I wanted in stock).........and I'm not a fan of their service dept.

I'm kind of in the same boat. We were spoiled by the Trav'lers and Dish Hopper/Joey I had installed on our two previous coaches. This new rig came with the T4 and Wallies. Yuck. I'm going to upgrade before leaving for our next trip North.
