Headlamp

Our new 2018 Phaeton has a DS headlight issue. It aims down making night driving more difficult. I don’t normally drive at night but now that there are fewer daylight hours then morning drives are much darker. With the lights on and standing about 20’ in front the DS light is clearly dimmer.

There are adjustments to raise the aim of the light. They may be accessible from the rear inside the front cap. The top of the light beam should strike the pavement on level ground about 100' in front.

My 2018 has an issue with the PS headlight. It is very dim compared to the DS.
Looks like a voltage drop or bad ground. It is at the dealer now to be repaired.
There are no adjustments that I can see behind the cap. It looks hard mounted.

When you look at the light housing from the side I noticed a focusing arm. Mine was bright silver in front of the lamp. It was clearly malformed down. I believe that is the cause of the problem. I attempted to remove the focusing arm but would not clear the opening for the lamp. I’ve notified Tiffin, they will send a new lamp. But, this may be a bad run of lamps. If the lamp comes disassembled so that the focus arm is accessible then I’ll make sure it is straight.
