Heated Floors - or not?

So ... we are looking at a new Phaeton and one of the options is "Heated Floors". While the DW and I don't really think that they will be necessary, the dealer mentioned that having them included would improve the re-sell .... if we ever got to that point?

For those that have them: what is your experience?
For those that do NOT have them: do you "wish" that you did?

Opinions please?

I concur. We really debated the heated floors just like you are since it's a $5k option. We added them after the order was placed and haven't regretted it. A lot of nights when it's down in the 30s and 40s the coach will stay warm with just the floors on setting 2 and the fireplace. My only complaint is the large difference in temperatures between the set points. Currently, there is a 9 degree difference in settings making setting 1 not even heat and setting 2 sometimes a little too warm. We have never used them above setting 2, but 3-5 might be usable in well below freezing weather. In addition it's nice to roll out of bed and not feel like you are stepping on a block of ice.

They are nice but I doubt that you will recoup the cost on resale. However, not having them might cause certain prospective buyers to look elsewhere.

WOW! .... and "Thanks" for the responses!

I understand that I will not recoup the $5k investment - but I'm bound to lose that (and more) when I drive a new MH off of the dealers lot.

We hand't (haven't?) planned on staying where the temps would dip into the 40's (or below) but I guess you can't rely on Mother Nature to always keep the weather to y/our liking.

We are still waiting on the final color swatches to be released from Tiffin before we place our order. We will include "Heated Floors" in our option list.

Thanks again for the quick (ans so far - unanimous) replies!

Dale.

I really like ours and would do it again. Keeps the coach warm without being stuffy feeling that sometimes come with a furnace. Only issue is if you have a dog bed that you leave on the tile floor or you like to put down throw rugs they may not be for you.

Just a note it dipped below 40even in Sarasota FL this past Jan. while we were there.

Heated floors are nice IMHO also although wife is not a big fan. Of course she tries to freeze me out of the coach...

Really depends on when and how you plan on using your MH. I will tell you from many season of "snowbirding" in higher end diesel MH's as well as travel trailers, you will never regret having heated floors. Any camping in the 30's or 40's and your floors will be cold and it's just not the best situation for comfort.
Now, if you're a fair weather camper and it never gets below 70 when your camping, no need to pay the additional costs for heated floors. This situation, however, does not fit most folks camping profile. My advise, get the heated floors and smile when some morning you walk across the tile floor when it's 30 degrees or less outside. You'll think your a pretty smart person, if you spend the money on heated floors, when this happens!!!

UGG sheepskin slippers $99. Work instantly. Low maintenance.
