Hidden slide hydraulic tank

We have a 2011 43 QGP Bus, recently we had problems retracting our passenger side kitchen slide. We called a mobile tech who filled a tank just behind the front drivers side wheel (this was the leveling jack reservoir). The slide retracted although slowly and we were able to fold and move.
Yesterday we tried to retract and move again. Nothing could make it move. After a more thorough inspection, we found the slide tank (dry) in the generator bay behind the passenger side headlight. After filling it with hydraulic fluid purchased from tractor supply (2 gal for $14.99 instead of ATF @ $7.49 per qt at an auto supply store). It worked fine.
On a side note, I had asked my Tiffin service Center to check all fluids prior to leaving for our vacation, it appears they didnít know the tank was there either. Hope this helps you.

I may be wrong on this but I caution you to recheck the fluid spec. I think it calls for Dexron transmission fluid as a substitute for the HWH branded stuff. That is NOT hydraulic fluid. You may want to investigate further and purge those systems before you do serious damage. I would call HWH customer support and discuss with them. Those tanks may be the most underserviced units on the rigs due to the difficult location but they are both critical. Just my 2 cents worth.
