High speed blow out video.

Here is a video of what happens in a high speed MH with a blow out. Early on the man asks a question and you answer will probably be wrong. Mine was.

Go Faster Than 65 MPH In An RV And Risk This Scary Result

Then click on the second video to see what he should have done.

There are other threads in this forum showing that video

It's not about traveling at 65 mph or more

It's about proper tire car, for all we know those tires were old 10 years old or failed due to numerous other reasons. This is why replacement of tires is suggested after a certain number of years and not miles.

There are also prodicts available to allow the driver to maintain control when a tire lets go

Good Initial or Refresher Training

I've been full-timing for over 10 years, but just learned of this "step on it" technique after the accident featured in the first video. I had never seen the instructional video on the technique.

As new people join the forum all the time, or may have missed this, I think surfacing this often is a public service. As the appropriate response is NOT natural, having it drummed into our heads is a good idea!

I appreciate the reminder!

Ours happened with less than year old tires & because we picked up something on the highway. It's still a "crap shoot" when it happens. Some days you're the dog & some days you're the fire hydrant! The "off the brake, on the gas" is totally correct, but don't think doing that will always save your a$$ & coach, it will most definitely help, but each blow out is unique, some minor & some explosive. I will never be without a steering stabilizer on a coach again...
