Hood not staying up

Yes, I have the same problem on mine, there is a latch on the upper right hand side that is supposed to engage to keep the hood in the up position. Mine is not working properly, so I cut a 2x4 the right lenght to prop under the black support, crude but it works and is safe to be under the hood.

I have a front hood on my FRED. Messed up and oiled the pivots. Took a few months of AZ dust, but it finally stays up on it's own again!

I took a shooting stick from Walmart it is adjustable, then replaced the top piece with a piece of plumbers strap formed into a "U" shape this holds it up great and is easy to store
