This is a guess I have a 40' QDH- with the slides in about 75 sq ft and maybe 200 sq ft with them open. Now this is floor space that you can walk on. I think some where I read with the slides out 500 sq ft of usable space that would be to walk on,sit on or lay on or to place something on.
Hope this helps as it is a guess.

Perhaps more important is the width of walkway and lack of access to rear bath when slides are closed. With some of the furniture options the walkway is very narrow. With slides in you need to go over the bed to access rear bath and closet.

Ok... so 500 sq ft is probably the measurement from wall to wall when the slides are out and all the furniture is removed.
and 200 sq ft is probably the measurement from wall to wall when the slides are left in and all the furniture is removed.
Thank you so much for the feedback.

We are just looking for the measurement from wall-to-wall when the slides are out and all the furniture is removed.
and the measurement from wall-to-wall when the slides are left in and all the furniture is removed.

On the 40 QBH it is the bath and half. So you have access to a bathroom without need of the rear bath. Plenty of walking room down thye center isle also.

Maybe my question was not clear enough in regards to what information I was seeking.
As a rule, when you are shopping for a house, the Real Estate company always lists the overall square feet...interior floor space before cabinets or furniture added.
We would like to know the total interior square foot of floor space before cabinets or furniture added ....with slide outs rolled out.
If someone can send us:
1) how long the total inside of the Tiffin Phaeton 40 QBH is
2) how wide the inside is (wall to wall-not including cabinets or slide outs)
3) the width and length of each slide out part (not including cabinets or furniture)
We can figure out the overall square feet.
Hope that someone can help us with this.
Thanks for any help you can give us with this ...

dmcquinn,
From the specs I found on the QBH it stated the exterior width was 8'5". Not knowing what the actual inside width was I used 8'. The attached drawing I created in Acad should be pretty close. I transferred it to a jpeg so I hope you can read the text. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for your help! That is exactly what we needed.
We will be retiring and purchasing our 40 QBH in a few months (after house sells) and will be full-time RVing.
When we are no longer physically able to full-time, we are going to be using our RV as our "tiny" home.
Again, thank you so much for your help!

You are welcome. Although we currently don't own an RV, my wife and I have been dreaming about seeing the USA in a MH for years now. We are planning to buy one after we retire. I have been reading threads on this forum for awhile now but just registered today to respond to your question.
Take care,
GM
