How to change Air Filter on Allegro Bus

I have a 2005 allegro bus with a 400 ISL engine side radiator. I want to change the air filter on the bus. I see the canister and see the two large hoses coming out of it with Clamps. The canister is held in place with 4 bolts. Do I have to totally remove the canister to get the air filter out or is there a way to get it out with the canister in place.

The "canister" is actually the air filter. The whole thing comes out in one piece. You may need to unhook your mud flap on that side to get it out of the way to drop the filter out. Just loosen the clamps holding the hoses on and then there are two spring clips that are not visible from the back (look up from the bottom) and it will come right out. I have an 05 bus too and have changed it a few times. Steve

Changing air filter on an Allegro Bus

Do you know if they make a K & N filter for these?

The filter number for the 05 is Racor 094973007. I got my last one at Blinefilters.com. Maybe it will cross reference to K&N

found it http://www.knfilters.com/HDfilters/h...ir-filters.htm

Thank YOu.

I looked at the air filter and saw the two latches you were talking about. I have a new one on order from NAPA. They are having a sale that ends tmorrow 20 march 2014 All filters are 45 per cent of the normal price. The fuel filter for my 7500 quiet diesel was 7.41 and the air filter for the 400 ISL was 87.00
