Ignition stays on ???

We have been staying in our 2010 Phaeton 40QTH for a couple of months at one location. Its a Freightliner chassis. The other day I thought I would relevel and after I was done and turned the key off I noticed power stayed lit up on the transmission selector. I also started the engine as I like to run it once a month and when I shut off the key the engine stayed running. To get it to shut-off I had to use the chassis battery disconnect. Tried it again and worked ok. Tried it again a few days later and the problem is back. I am wondering if anyone has ran into this problem. It is quite humid here on Vancouver Island as there has been lots of rain/snow. My first thought was ignition switch but I noticed a buzzing noise at the rear of the mh when I turned the disconnect back on.

You might check the nut on the backside of the dash that holds the key hole in place. If it is loose, it can allow the key set to spin but not turn off (or on)
Just a first thought

The switch is solidly mounted in the dash and also has a nice positive on/off position. Already checked the connector on the back too. Am going to remove the switch and maybe do a continuity check on the problem contacts and try to narrow down whether its the switch. Just thought someone else may have ran into this issue. Thanks.

Look at your wiring diagram. I would guess that the ignition switch turns on a relay that applies power to everything. If that relay is hanging up and not releasing would give the indicaton you are talking about.

No wiring diagrams in the manuals.

You might get a better response to your question on the freightliner chassis forum.

If you could trace down where that "buzz noise" is coming from (probably a relay) and tap it a couple of times it might steer you closer to the problem.

I agree with papaw1. The buzzing is usually a relay or the coil inside the relay vibrating.

Track in down and you probably will find your problem.

I believe that you would get much better and accurate responses over on the TRVN forum.
