Increasing Water Pressure

We have a "new to us" 2011 Allegro Bus 36QSP - was wondering if there are any modifications to increase the water pressure. It is not awful, but would be nice if it was better.

Not sure about your particular instance but have found that both our coach and 5er have similar flow restriction issues.

Water pressure is determined by the source you are hooked up to. Is it better using the fresh water tank and the pump or on shore water? Go to Lowes or HD and get a water pressure gauge. If the source pressure is less than 40 psi then you are correct about low pressure. If over 40 then you most likely have a flow restriction.

You may have a check valve at the input that is restricting flow. If you are using a Camping World type pressure regulator then get rid of it. They are primarily flow restrictors. If you have filters, check them. When they get dirty, they restrict flow. If you are using any fittings at the hose bib like Ys, check to see how small the bore opening is. Some are very small.

If some faucets are worse than others, check them for restrictions like flow reducers or just dirty screen strainers.

What type of regulator do you suggest?

The pressure seems to be the same from the tank or when hooked up to the campsite water supply. I did have one of those regulators from Camping World - but when the same pressure was with only the holding tank, I thought maybe a higher flow water pump may work. It is real accessible - but not sure if it would cause to much pressure for the rest of the system.

The water filter makes sense - I can look at what flow restrictions it may have.

Thanks.

I got a whole house type pressure reducer and just plumbed it up with hose type fittings for input and output. You get the full flow that your source is capable of that way.

There is a hex screw on the backside of the pump that you can increase/decrease the water pressure. You'll have to get a mirror to see it. I boondock, so, I turned it down.

On edit, there is also a clear un-screwable"collector screen" inline with the pump which I found lots of plastic, probably from when they put the water tanks together. I've also found that when in a park with low water pressure, turning the pump on will increase the flow at the faucet.

Get yourself a Watts pressure regulator with a gauge that is adjustable. Put the gauge on your hose before water enters the coach. You set it to the pressure you want (mine is set at 60). That way you protect your lines from too high a pressure and we have found some really high pressures at a few campgrounds.
