King-Dome 9630-LP
Hi, I posted an AD in the classified inquiring if any one had upgraded their satellite dish from an old working King-Dome 9630 LP and still had it. Mine is bad and I have not had the RV long enough to invest in an upgrade. Thought I might try here. Thanks.

Being sort of old and not automatic or an in motion satellite I was thinking perhaps someone may have upgraded and held onto the original. It is an auto scan but requires manual tuning. Perhaps something similar will substitute. Thanks.

Thanks for the PDF. I had DirecTV and King Dome technical support and concluded the unit was bad and not worth fixing.

King Dome = junk !!! Screwed with mine for 3 years with direct tv-a cloud would show up and no reception. Finally bit the bullit and went with The Traveler. One push of a button, 5 minutes later I'm watching tv. Best investment I ever made. Just saying.

Maybe after we have the RV a while a new satellite dish would be nice to have but first would like to try a like replacement if I can find one.

We are meeting more rv'ers every trip that have gone to a Razor OTA and unlimited data streaming. Maybe thats the future. Stick the dish !

Are you talking about a smart TV and unlimited wireless data plan to stream Broadcasts.

Thats it Catch, Go with OTA TV and data streaming (no commercials). Many parks have free wifi today. Cost of unlimited data is offset by dropping sat tv. I never thought I would be payin over hundred bucks a month to spent 1/3 of time watchin commercials. Every 10 minutes viewing 9-11 of them and over 60 every hour. Amazes me people aren't rebelling. But i guess they're numb to it. Yes, OTA has them, but at least I ain't payin for them. just sayn.

Thanks. Wish I had both unlimited data and good service. Can get one or the other but gave me some ideas and something to play with. My current TV is not smart but my DVD player is.
