Lighted handle 07 Allegro Bay

We moved up from a 95 gas Allegro Bay to an 07 Allegro Bay QDB FRED. Bought it in January and in February went to Red Bay to tweak it. Roof rails, slide floor and a few other things. No clue why I didn't check the handle beside the door on the PS entrance. Is it supposed to light up? If so, how do I get it to light? If mine does not how do I figure that out as opposed to it is broken and needs fixed? Thanks!

They sell them on Amazon. If it takes you more than 15 mins to RnR the light.. you're drinking too much beer in between.

I did put a little RTV to hold it in place too.

Here's a good thread on the lighted handle, both for bulb replacement or putting a bulb in a handle that never had one:

I don't think the Allegro's ever had a lighted handle. I could be wrong but I think that is a feature of the Phaetons and Buses. I know my 2004 didn't have one. If yours is lighted there would be a rocker switch just inside the door on the left that says door handle or something similar.

My 07 Phaeton has a lighted handle but the top of the handle is not working and the bottom is very dim. Would the link above be the correct part for my handle?

George, they make a replacement light for the handle. I saw a bunch of them in Tiffin's Parts Store in Red Bay. I suggest that you call Tiffin parts and check on the replacement light information: maker and part number (not just Tiffin's part number).

You can order the light from Tiffin but before you do, ask about the shipping cost because it can be a whole lot higher than the part cost itself.

You can also email don.boyd@tiffinmotorhomes.com and he will email you back the information (or at least he has always come through for me).

Thanks for your replies and links to explore. We also saw the parts at the store in Red Bay. I will check the literature that came with the coach and even consider adding a light if e didn't come with one.

If the handle is clear plastic it might be lit.. here is how to find out.

Remove it.. On one end or the other (if it's lit) there will be wires and either a burned out light bulb or a blown LED.

If it's an LED.. Post and I will tell you how to fix it RIGHT.. If it's a light bulb, Check for an LED replacement.. That is all.

My 2008 Allegro Bay has a lit grab handle. As I recall, the light in the handle is either controlled by the switch that controls passenger side outside light or the switch that controls the floor light that illuminates the step. I don't recall which switch controls the handle.
