Looking at a 2008 Allegro Bus

I am a former Dutch Star owner, and am looking a a 2008 Allegro Bus 40QRP for sale. It has a Cummins engine, Freightliner chassis, with about 62k miles on it. I don't know what to expect with a 2008 Tiffin. Can anyone give me some advice?

Hello efstewart, I have an 2005 Allegro Bus which may be similar to the 08. Do you have specific questions regarding the Bus you are looking at? I'm not familiar with the Dutch Star to be able to give you a comparison but I can try to answer any questions about the Bus you may have?

Call Tiffin with VIN and ask about the Big 3 recalls.

1. Drivers side slide out floor. Tiffin redesigned the floor and replaced due to water leakage.

2. Wet Bay compartment floor. Tiffin replaces them.

3. Roof rails replaced.

My steps were also reinforced on a recall along with the windshield wiper arms replaced.

On mine, 1 & 2 were done by the previous owner and the rest were done on my visit to Red Bay - no charge.

2008 42qrp

I have a 42 QRP on a Spartan chassis that I have owned since new and been very pleased with. I did have the roof rails replaced (twice 1st with reinforced fiberglass and then Tiffin suggested I have it done again this time with aluminum), the slide repaired and the wet bay replaced with a plastic or composite. All work suggested and performed by Tiffin on their dime. The coach drives really well though I expect some new Konis may even be an improvement. The coach is solid, reliable and plenty of power to pull my full size GMC. A friend has a 2017 40 pulling a jeep and he generally leaves me a bit behind pulling long steep grades (especially if I lose momentum). But nothing to complain about. My wife is wanting a rear bath and I may have put a deal together on a new "to us" coach. But I am not anxious to see the 2008 go - it has and is just solid no hassle coach. In fact I might be relieved if the new deal falls through. Hope you have the same success. If not ours will be on the market soon.
