Just bought an 07 Phaeton and the previous owner kept no maintenance records. Does Tiffin keep records of each coach by vin number? I want to get up to date on the maintenance. The coach has 13,200 miles.

Thanks

JD

Tiffin would only log warranty work done to the coach. If the previous owner had the work done at a dealership they may be able to provide you with some history. If he did it himself and didn't keep any records I'd have to be suspect of what he did or did not do.

Your best bet in any case is to just go get it done now. That way you know everything is taken care of and what kind of oil, etc is in the unit. Same with the generator.

Bought mine with 14K and no records. Went to Gaffney and had the M3 service performed. Knew when and where to start from. I also called Cat, Allison, Freightliner and Fleetwood to check for warrenty work.

I am in a similar position. I am having to start my own maintenance logs as the existing records are spotty at best.

I have done the generator minus the v-belt, coolant and valves (I have done the oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter, starter and cables) as I have yet to figure out how to get to the rest of these items.

I am in the process of (as soon as I get the supplies) doing the engine oil and filter, fuel filters, coolant and filters, air filter, air dryer (lots of parts) and anything else. I have already replaced the shocks and air leveling valves (and toilet and water pump and...)

Keep your chin up. Most of the maintenance is fairly simple. Just remember to stay safe, have a helper and don't assume anything.

Generators should be exercised with at least half load about two hours a month. Your gen has very low hours, check the oil and start useing it some each month. Then it will be ready to run when you need it.

Made appointment with TAG Freightliner in Memphis to get current on maintenance schedule. Anybody have experience with TAG? They are also going to check and align the front end.

Thanks for any input,

JD
