Need Advice on Phaeton with check transmission error

I wanted to add a new thread in Tiffin Owner forum but could not figure it out so I pressed reply. If someone can tell me how to make a new thread I would appreciate it.

I have a 2013 Phaeton 40QBH. it has 12,000 miles on it. On Wednesday we started getting an error message to check transmission and stop engine. We were able to get it to a Freightliner repair shop as we were 1000 miles from home, and they cannot find the problem. We purchased a new coach in order to avoid problems like this and because we heard great things about Tiffin. We'll needless to say we are very frustrated and upset. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

Sorry your here with problems.
JMHO: Not fair to blame Tiffin , on engine , transmission related problems .
Cummins engine , Allison transmission , installed and wired by Freightliner in their chassis and delivered to Tiffin to build the coach on top.
Unless Tiffin has done something to damage the transmission or wiring the problem should be considered a, Freightliner or Allison issue.
If you hang around the forums long enough, you'll find that all manufacturers have there problems, chassis ,coach , engine and transmission. Both new and old.
They are after all designed and built by man.
If they were all perfect , these forums would be really boring.
I hope that the dealer has a handle on your problem soon so you can get out and enjoy your RV. Good Luck.

Cool Blaming Tiffin

Hey, thanks for your feedback. The reason why I am blaming Tiffin is because the Ground Wire to the frame was barely hand tight and the connectors from the mid chassis relay to the battery box were loose. They were over sprayed with undercoat and foam so they were difficult to find by the mechanic. After 2 days at the Freightliner repair yard the mechanic finally fixed our problem. All of this was installed by the coach dealer not Freightliner. The mechanic had to
Trace every wire going back to the battery box and all of the problems stemmed from loose connections from the Tiffin install. The ground wire was so loose he was surprised we did not short out the entire coach. It was a nightmare that is finally over. Now I have to go to Tiffin to get the numerous things fixed in the coach like broken steps, broken water heater, etc., etc.

Again, all Tiffin has done was install those parts which are made by other companies. You could go back to Red Bay for repairs or you could take it to any Tiffin dealer for repairs. I suggest you call Tiffin Service and speak with Don Boyd about your problems. Some items might be considered warranty repairs.

Ok, now I understand, your issue traced back to some Tiffin installed wiring. Strange it didn't show up sooner than 12,000 miles.
Good luck getting all your problems corrected, I hope you can put this all behind you real soon.

Red face Repair

Thanks for your feedback. We were able to drive back from ok city to New Orleans in the coach without problem. The mechanic at the Freightliner, Troy, in ok city was amazing. He literally worked on it for about 12 hours until he narrowed it down to electrical wiring. It was throwing all sorts of strange codes that had to be worked down until the real problem was found, which was hand tightening of wiring connecting the Freightliner product to Tiffin product, done by Tiffin. The mechanic was very surprised that it did not show up until 12k but said it was due to te under spray holding it in place. It was prettying a nightmare for 3 days. Everything we purchased a new coach to avoid. Heading to red bay this week to fix the numerous other problems we are having like steps broke, water heater not working, radio broke, etc.
