Hi,

We have a new 2011 Open Road and is seems that the brakes are not as responsive as they should be. I have to a great deal more pressure to the pedal than I did in my previous RV to make it slow to a stop.
Is this normal for this model?

Thanks,
Steve

Are you comparing 2 units with air brakes?

No, neither unit has air brakes. They are both gas engines.

I don't think Tiffin used the Workhorse chassis on the 2011 Allegro, so I assume your chassis is a Ford. What chassis was your previous RV built on? It may just be a difference between chassis manufacturers.

On the other hand, since you say your new coach requires a great deal more pressure to the pedal, you may have a vacuum leak or other problem with your brakes. You might get a better response to your question if you post it on the Ford Chassis Owners Forum.

Just drove my Open Road today and while it's not a easy as my car it certainly isn't hard. It takes a little more pressure than my truck, and more than that than my car, but not a lot.
Please have your brakes checked if you think it's too hard.
