New option for 2011 Bus

Got a spec sheet from a dealer for 2011 Bus. I noticed that you can get a tankless instant hot water heater. Seems to be a great idea. Have any of you ever seen one in a MH? I haven't.

Do you think it is a good idea? They did indicate that if you order this you can't get the hydraunic heating.

The only problem I have heard about with a tankless water heater is it takes a second or two for the heater to kick on when you turn on the faucet. This isn't a problem if you just leave the hot water on the whole time during your shower. However, if you don't have full hookups, this isn't feasible because you'll fill your gray tank too fast.

The other thing you miss out on with a tankless heater is the electric option. We never run our tank-type on LP unless we're boondocking. Of course, LP usage should be reduced with a tankless heater, but I still like running on electric.

With our 10 gallon hot water heater and the oxygenic shower head, the wife and I can take unhurried showers back to back without running out of hot water. I have thought that when it comes time to replace the hot water heater I might go with the tankless heater. However, like Paz, I don't want to lose the electric option and we've been quite satisfied with water heater. If I was going to buy a Bus I would go with the Aqua-Hot Heating System and get the unlimited hot water (with electric option) plus a much better coach heating system than the propane. The Aqua-Hot runs off diesel (150 gallon tank) versus propane heaters (28 gallon tank).
