We recently took delivery of 2011 Bus so have gone from the Alpine Coach section of IRV2 to the Tiffin group.

I was about to hang some pictures, calendar, etc on the slideout walls and when I "thumped" on them I thought oh - oh sounds like fiberglass or aluminum (not likely). So before I start drilling holes and puting screws in the walls I figured I'd check how other owners hand items.

Screws, nails, adhesive hangers ????

Thanks;

I use the 3-M tape. It holds until you want it to release.

Depending upon the weight, surface and finish, I use Commercial Velcro, foam tape, or screws. For items that rest flat on counters or in cabinets, I may use Earthquake Puddy or strap ties. I also use a 25 lb canvas bag of lead shot to anchor the base of a table from moving while driving. Items that move can not only break, but can be flying projectiles in a sudden stop.

Command strips, the only way to go. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

Another vote for those Command strips. 15 months on the road so far and pictures are still solidly hanging on the walls. Nina

The 3M product is the best thing since the post-it note. I am not a fan of poking holes in my MH unless I know I can see behind the area. We have used their hooks for holding our dogs leashes and photos. They secure our Onan remote start unit in the BR, and I use them on the back of the MH to secure our FMCA plate, that has withstood wind and rain for 9 months and to the best of my knowledge it is still back there. We love them!

On the Seattl Post-Intelligencer web-site, there's a blogger by the name of Jim Jaillet whose "handle" is "Rambling Man". In his post today, he explains how he's adapted to his companion's wish to have art-work on display.

He's taken advantage of the ceiling structure and puts cup hooks in to the cross beams and hangs the frames from them, so he isn't putting a lot of stress onto the wall panels. The understanding is that they are stashed away when travelling.

According to the directions it's not recommended for use on wall paper (most likely for removal reasons). Aren't the walls covered in some sort of wall paper? Please let me as I've been afraid to use them on any of my walls.

I have seen numerous replys about the 3M method about hanging pictures. But I am one here to tell you first hand, if you expect to be exposed to high temperatures for any period of time, these will let loose on you when you are traveling on bumpy surfaces.
We had a very lightweight clock to let go and fall to the floor while traveling on a bumpy I-95 road surface. The outside temperature was about 95 and unfortunately, this is what our coach is exposed to while in storage when not in use.
Any other suggestions?

Are you talking the hooks...or the Command Strips? I've had the hooks fall off, but (so far) never the Command Strips and we've definitely been in hot temps over the past year and a half.

I use 3-4 Command Strips per item. I do have one item hanging on a hook (a small nail that we put in the wood wall). For that one I've backed it up with "quake-hold" putty. So the item is hanging on the nail and kept flat to it with 4 spots of quake-hold putty.

I have used the 3 M hooks on the inside of cupboard doors, on the wood walls & in the shower & they don't come off until I take them off. But what about the "wallpapered" walls? Are the hooks safe to use there or the special 3 M picture hooks? I have backed up pictures on the wood with museum putty, but would that leave a stain on the "wallpapered" wall?
