Not much Warranty for 2nd purchaser

We just bought a 2008 Allegro Bay (our first MH) that hasn't been in service quite two years. When I emailed Tiffin to determine what part of the warranty passed to a subsequent purchaser, I learned that only the chassis warranty passes to a second owner. What IS the warranty on the chassis?

We still love the coach and this wouldn't have caused us to buy something else, but I guess the lamination and unitized construction warranties are out the window for us. I was surprised. We read about the satisfaction and quality...if it's as good as it's cracked up to be, we won't miss the warranty.

Has anyone had exprience with how/whether Tiffin works with owners not the original purchasers?

You could have a FRED, a Workhorse or a Ford. On all 3 of these vehicles there are different warranty items however on the Workhorse it's 3 years or 36,000 miles. All 3 basically have the same type of warranty terms except for the FRED which has extended warranty on the diesel engine.

The Allison in the FRED and WCC will have extended warranty dates as well The Ford will not.

Unless it has changed recently you should have the same warranty as the original owner. They have cut back on a lot of things since the downturn so I may be wrong. Call Tiffin parts and service number then ext 3290 and ask.

Thanks. I will call that number. It's a Freightliner FRED.

Dill, I purchased a used 2008 Allegro (WH) in March and have been very happy with the rig (3,000 miles since purchase) and the Tiffin service center which I have called numerous times have walked me through the solutions to problems which I was then able to fix. This is my first MH and I never heard of Tiffin till this year. After reviewing all the consumer RV material and comments on the web I bought the rig. Regarding lamination I believe its a 5 yr warranty from Tiffin. Good Luck with the MH.

Many thanks to CHASTHO for this information. I did call, left my number, and received a response in just a few minutes. Having the extension really helped me make the contact.
Apparently Tiffin considers issues from 2nd owners and may require the coach to come to Red Bay for repair. Service rep also explained how to transfer Freightliner warranty and answered all my other questions. We live just outside Nashville and would gladly drive down to handle a warranty issue.
