Offer on a 09 40ft Phaeton with SPARTAN chassis???

I got a call from a dealer that got a 2009 40ft Phaeton. I'm thinking of buying it. It has a Spartan Chassis. Apparently Tiffin was running out of Freightliners, and built it on the Spartan (you can not order a 40ft on that chassis normally). It appears to have drum brakes in front, while the Freightliner would have discs. Do you guys view the Spartan as a plus or a minus?

Tiffin built a few '08 Phaetons 40' on Spartan Chassis, as I believe they also ran out of Freightliner Chassis at that time. As you mentioned, you could not place a custom built order for a Phaeton 40' equipped with a Spartan Chassis. If I'm not mistaken, the Spartan Chassis used on these Phaeton 40' are actually the same as on the Allegro Bus, though not sure if they were IFS equipped at that time. You may want to check, as this would be a particular bargain. Overall, I'd say it's a plus as the Spartan chassis normally comes with a premium price over the Freightliner, and I believe Tiffin offered the few Spartan equipped Phaeton 40' at the same price.
