older Phaeton question

To the untrained eye the Phaeton line seems to be pretty similar in design (exterior body) since around 2002 or so (when did the Phaeton series begin?). Have any major changes taken in place with the line that are worth noting - for example chassi change, engine choices, structural design, roofing etc.. i know that the newer models always look sleeker with better paint schemes etc.. but there are some pretty sweet deals on older Phaeton right now.. Thanks again

Drop In...Welcome to iRV2.
I just want to clarify...Are you asking when any major changes took place in the Phaeton model and what those changes have been?

The folks here are usually very helpful - so I think many are unsure of what you are asking here....

I don't know about structural changes, but inside amenities have improved, with flat-screens, surround sound, residential refridges, etc. If you go to Tiffin's website, you can view older sales brochures to compare features from year to year. Not sure if you'll get back to '02, but you'll get an idea. A phone call to Tiffin wouldn't be out of the question either.

the 2002 was the first yr for phaeton; the 2007 had " Exterior Swing-Out Storage Doors with Gas Shocks" see all the 2007 specs at:

they MAY have had them earlier, all specs at tiffin site

Drop In,
All of the 2002 - 2006 Phaetons are on the Freightliner chassis, except the 42' introduced in late 2006. Many of the later models are also on the Freightliner chassis. You can take look at the chassis specifications for the different years at FCCC Motorhome Chassis: Built on Freightliner to get a feel for the basic changes.

Drop In, if you go to the Tiffin Motorhomes web site, you will find they have specs and brochures online for models all the way back to 2005. Click on the model you want, then click "Models Archive." You may find answers to many of your questions there.
