Onan Diesel Generator Fuel Filter Replacement

I have a 2010 Allegro Bus with a Onan 10KW diesel generator. I have changed the air filter, oil filter and engine oil on the generator with no issues. I was trying to figure out where the fuel filter is physically located on the genset. I want to change it next. Looks like it is going to be behind a side panel and I would like to start with the correct one. I checked numerous posts but none noted how you access the fuel filter. Any suggestions?

Onan 10HDKCA11506C

Thanks in advance.

Sould be mounted with two small bolts inside the door on the bottom of the gererator. It has of couse 2 steel lines going in and out of it and the filter if you have not bought one yet is about 2-1/2"x4" and is a metal looking filter.

Fuel Filter Replacement

The fuel lines go in the rear of the generator on the passenger side. My access door is on the driver side, front third of the generator. The generator is on a slide and it pulls out of the coach but the rear portion is still in the bay of the vehicle and relatively obstructed. I can see the fuel distributor pump on the side of the engine but I have not spotted the fuel filter from the access door on the driver side. I was guessing I have to unbolt a side panel on the passenger side of the generator to access the fuel filter but it does not seem right for a replaceble part such as a fuel filter. The panel retaining bolts will be difficult to reach unless the complete generator is removed from the coach. I am just trying to make sure were the filter is before I start taking relatively difficult panels off the unit and waste a lot of time. Now that I see your suggestion on placement, I will go out tomorrow in the daylight and see if I missed the filter down low at the access panel. Thanks for the suggestion.

10K ONAN
Fuel NAPA 3063
Air NAPA 6449
Oil NAPA 1311
Two 10mm bolts on the driver side down and to the right of your big removable door. They are in the black base section. After you remove those you can lift the filter up and out the big door and actually change it outside the box...no mess. Be sure to position the lines the same way and don't kink them when remounting the filter.
The small access door at the bottom rear on that side is acess fo the electric fuel pump
Fuel Pump (electric) Airtex E11020 EXACT replacement for Onan 149-2790 or 149-2692 $60-70 at O'Reillys, Autozone etc. or you can buy it from Cummins for about $185.

Fuel Filter Replacement

Thanks. That is exactly the information and help I was hoping to get. You just saved me a lot of time. I had missed it down there and I guess was basically starting to take the whole cabinet apart and track down where it was. I also appreciate the specific alternate filter information. I have noted it down. I have already bought all Onan replacement parts but it will be a big help next time. Thanks again.
