Opinions on a Garden Tub/Shower:

Looking at a 2008 42qdp Allegro Bus which has a Garden Tub. When I am saying looking, that is online so have not actually seen the unit yet. My questions are: if you have a Garden Tub/Shower do you like it? Are they harder to get in and out of compared to just a shower unit? Larger than the standard 36" shower? Since I have to fly and view the unit, hopefully some of you would share your opinions.

We have been living in our 2008 Phaeton with a garden tub for a year and a half now. I am not sure what the other type of shower they used. But I love the garden tub shower. You have to step over the side to get in and out and I have caught a toe on it a couple of times. But I like it so much that I have never taken another campground shower since we have had this unit. I am 6' tall and 260 and it is plenty big for me. I am really happy that is what was in this rig. I can't imagine anyone actually using it as a tub except maybe to wash a child or a dog.

I am 6'3" and 221 lbs so not really small either. I thought or assumed that the tub/shower would be larger than the 36" shower but was a little concerned about having to step over the sides as you mentioned. Thanks for the feedback. Concerned that it does not appear that many Motorhomes have this option. Is it because of space or people not liking them? One response so far so kind of reflects that many are not out there.

We previuosly owned a 2009 Allegro Bus w/garden tub and at 6' I had plenty of room but as mentioned occasionally caught my toe stepping in, no big deal. My wife loved the garden tub and could/would take a sitting soak in the tub. She misses it in our current coach. It was also great for dog bathing !!

It seems like I have read somewhere that the tub/shower is actually a bit larger than the standard shower. I suspect it has to do with the molded in seat in the shower being larger than in the tub, so thus, more usable room. If I were ordering a new Tiffin, I would probably go for the tub option. DW does like to soak once in a while.
