Outside Bay Door panel separation

Today I noticed my bay door panel on the power chord door is separating. See photo. Anyone experience this before? Is this fixable by me or something that needs to be done by the dealer? Appreciate any thoughts.... Thanks......

Call Tiffin Service on Monday and ask them how to repair a basement door that is delaminating. Most dealers are not going to know how but Tiffin should be able to give you instructions.

You may also want to check over at the Tiffin RV Network website.

You didn't post the year of your coach, but if it's less than ten years old Tiffin might cover it under their structure warranty.

There is usually some slack adjustment on the latch on the inside. But I have seen where the doors have been bent over time (strong wind, closed on something like maybe power cord or other happenings). If the gap is same top to bottom it is probably out of adjustment. The panels (tire well and possibly back/front shell) could be overtightened or have come loose as well. They are just screwed on. May need to be adjusted with spacers. I had that happen on a rear tire well after a blowout.

I had that happen on my systems compartment door. It happened when I swung the door closed with the water hose out of its slot in the water bay floor. I took the door off, mixed up some epoxy and replied it. I left it clamped for a couple days to make sure the glue cured. Rehung the door. Good as new.

The above post assumes the separation is on the hinge side, and not the handle side.

The coach is a 2014 I purchased used; the bay door separation existed when I purchased it. The separation is on the lower left hinge side where the power cord opening hangs through the bottom. It's apparent the separation is from the cord being pulled against the bay door.

It's been three months since you first posted and you haven't had time to get it fixed???

Before you get more delamination and water intrusion, this really isn't a hard repair. Find out the right adhesive to use (Tiffin Service), clean the area really well, get your clamps ready, and go for it.

BTW, I had the same door delaminate on my Phaeton about a week after I sold it. No clue why it happened but the new owner got it fixed promptly at our local service shop that we share.
