Phaeton pricing

We just looked at the 36 foot Phaeton at the Pomona Rv show, and just wondering what a good price would be for a 2011 or 2012 36 foot Phaeton. We currently own a used Dutch Star, and figure that the Phaeton would be a better choice right now. Any ideas about where to start on prices? I believe the Sticker for this model is about 250K. I have heard that some new coaches can go for about 25 to 35% off sticker in this slow economy. Is that true with the Phaeton?

We haven't been motorhome shopping lately, but I hear Tiffins are usually discounted less than most other models because of their popularity. The Phaeton and the Allegro Bus have been swapping back and forth as the #1 and #2 best-selling motorhome models for the last several years. From what I read, 25% would be considered a very good discount on any Tiffin.

BTW, we were in Red Bay on Thursday, and I picked up brochures and price lists. The base price for a Phaeton ranges from $248,192 for the 36 footer on a Freightliner chassis to $301,280 for the 42' tag axle on a Spartan chassis. Price lists can be found online here.

I agree totally - that seems to be the case.

Dealers back that up by saying it's the most popular selling model; touting Tiffin's good reputation, etc. Best I read online in the last two years was someone who got 27% off of a Bus (with no trade). I'm sure there might be more, but I, personally, haven't stumbled across them (and too, not everyone posts paid prices, etc., online).

Have you checked out this site to also do some reading? It might help too, and there are some dealers that people tend to recommend over others (as far as price-point). The names come up repeatedly in a few posts: http://www.tiffinrvnetwork.com
