Now for your first buy - get yourself a Progressive Industries HW50C surge supressor/electrical managment system. This will protect you from a host of electrical maladies that can be found in campground wiring.

And if you haven't done so, join us on the tiffinrvnetwork.com for more "stuff" about your new coach.

We've already purchased some sort of surge protector. I'm electrical challenged but my husband told me to order it, so I did!!! Can't get away this weekend so I think we are doing practice camping in the driveway!!

Welcome to the 36LA family.....We picked up our 36LA back in November and have used it 4 times. We love it more each time we use it. Few minor adjustment I did myself and what we though was a major furnace problem turned out to be moisture in the propane. Other than that it has operated perfectly. Performed the CHF since ours did not come with Sumo Springs. Picked up the Progressive Industries HW50C surge protector and 5 Star Tuner as upgrades. Also installed an outside refrigerator in the compartment next to the entry door and installed a custom cabinet/console to replace the plastic tray in the dog house. Best wishes and safe travels.

New coach also Allegro 31SA

We just brought home our new Allegro 31SA. We have some kind of surge protector built in and our dealer said we did not need an additional one. Do we still need another one? We are really newbys(first motor home) and have so many questions even though we got a great walk through. We stayed at the dealers for four days to get little things fixed and our tow car wired. Took drivers class but was still a little nervous driving home on the interstate. My husband drove first, I still have to practice. Very exciting,

The surge protector installed by Tiffin isn't the most robust unit built. I have been using an additional external unit made by Surge Guard, but most people say the Progressive Industries unit is better.

Did you just pick up a regular "dorm" refrigerator or was it some special type for outdoors?

Interested in seeing a pic of your cabinet/console unit you installed and where you purchased. Thanks!!

I just looked at a video about hardwiring in the Progressive Industries EMS system. Too much diy for us. Is there a good system that just plugs into the exiting connector between coach and electrical cable?
