Power glide Chassis Parts

I知 prepping for a new to me Allegro Bus purchase. I知 wondering, where do you get parts for the Powerglide Chassis. Things like serpentine belt, thermostat, filters, etc. A freight liner chassis part can be bought at the Freightliner dealer, which are many. But there痴 only one Powerglide store, at Tiffin Factory-Red Bay?

Thanks for any info!

There are actually very few "true" Powerglide parts, as that is basically the chassis only. Even in that case, you will find that Tiffin/Powerglide still uses a mixture of common parts, suspension comes to mind, when building the chassis. The engine is still Cummins and the transmission is still Allison. The only area I can think of where you really might need something Powerglide specific is parts of the DEF system. Now service is another story, and one that you would be good to be prepared.

I bought spare belts on Amazon. All you need is the belt number which is printed on the outside of it. The oil filter, fuel/water separator and fuel filters also available on Amazon. The air filter I bought through DieselFiltersOnLine.com but there are other sources. All you need is to get the part number off the filter. There are authorized Power Glide service centers around, plus you can have routine maintenance, oil changes, etc done at a lot of truck centers. All of the major components are off the shelf; Reyco-Granning rear differential, Cummins engine, Allison transmission, ZF front end, etc.

Good advice about buying online or local above. On a new Bus, you will get a spare serpentine belt

So, it looks like the first task is to develop my personal parts number database and search for sources. Hopefully the only things I'll need are the consumables, filters, spare belt, maybe even a thermostat?

What do you carry onboard in the line of spare parts?

Thanks for the info! I look forward to the purchase of our new 2 us Bus!

I carry both serpentine belts, fuel and oil filters and a few miscellaneous air conditioner parts (fan blade, capacitors, etc) as well as general maintenance items but I don't worry about carrying a thermostat. IF it gets to that point I'm going to find a Cummins care facility.
