Pricing In California

Hi Everyone:

We are shopping for a 2014 Allegro 35LA in Southern California. On Line I have seen folks claiming discounts as much as 22% off List Price. Would this be a reasonable discount to shoot for in the Southern California Market? Anyone with feedback on price paid for a 35LA in So Cal would be very much appreciated.

Regards,

Steve

Your target should be a minimum of 25% off for a factory order. BTW, getting it built the way you want is the preferred and, since the dealer doesn't have to add it to his floor plan, a way to get a better price.

If your CA dealers don't want to deal, check out Sherman RV in Sherman, MS or Davis Motorhomes in Memphis. Sure you have to drive it home but that's a good thing.

Hi Everyone:

Thank you all so much for the information and feed back. We do intend to order from the factory through the dealer. We want to make sure that our new rig is just how we want it to be. Its hard to get specific information on MH's in terms of discounts. I saw where on person posted a discount of 35%! Not sure if this would be a real expectation here in California. The Tiffin dealer here Southern California is the exclusive dealer for Tiffin Motor Homes for all of Southern California. I hope they will be willing to deal.

Again thanks so much for the help!

Regards,

Steve

Find the saving where you can. As a resident of CA, Buy it in state or out of state, you still have to pay CA state tax and registration.

Steve,

When we bought our motorhome we ended up driving (our trade too!) to Happy Daze RV in Livermore. I'm not saying that I recommend them, just telling you what we did. We did the deal over phone and email and everything was ready when we arrived. I've never been back and never needed to go back.

The local place you are talking about (one hour away from me) wanted $5k more for a lessor equipped model. Wife and I sat in their office and told them how serious we were but no deal. The 6-7 hour drive was worth it for us.

Don't be afraid to reach out and get prices from other dealers. If nothing else you can bring that info with you to local dealer and "help" them to compare prices.

BTW, we ended up at 27% off MSRP for our gasser. We felt that was a great deal compared to the local and even others in nearby states.

Good luck!!

Purchased ours off the lot in So. Calif. for just under 27% off MSRP. It took a couple of months to get to that point but we weren't in a hurry. Wasn't thrilled with the trade value of our coach but it was at the NADA wholesale price. Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions. Enjoy your new coach!
