Problems with tv remote on 14 Phaeton

Good Morning,
We have had remittent problems with the remotes not working as they should in our coach but now they won't work at all. I called tiffin and talked with the TV guy there who told me that the IR spider Emitter box is bad. Apparently it is somewhere in the compartment that holds all of the tv equipment. It is 12 volt. I can't find it anywhere.
My question is has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? Tiffin says the new spider emitter box is about $85.00.
Thanks for any help.

Can you give more detial?
The Spyder system is only used to actually control the Satellite receiver and DVR when you are at the front of the coach.

The spyder is not involved in turning on the TV's or any TV functions like volume and channel selection.

Are you saying your remotes will not even turn on your TV?

To bypass the Spyder system, just open the doors in the entertainment cabinet in the bedroom.

You must be sure to have the proper remote( all of your remotes are not the same). With the doors open, the remote will directly control the DVR or Satellite....AND the TV in the bedroom.

Dan

As the other Dan said, the Spyder only controls the satellite receiver and the DVD player. The "blaster" unit is a small black box approximately 2"x3"x1/2" thick. It will have two power wires and the Spyder repeaters (little buttons) wired to it. It is usually found mounted on the inside of the AV cabinet, high up on one side or the other. Here are the instructions for re-programming it as it might just be a programming error.
