Purchase discounts

We are looking to purchase a new (to one year old) Allegro Red. We live in the pacific NW. just curious what kind of discounts people are expecting on a new purchase?

For those of you who have a RED, would you recommend this coach? Why or why not?

For new, discounts are normally in the 25-28% off from MSRP. The best dealers might be a few miles from you in Alabama (Martin Ingram), Mississippi (Sherman RV), Tennessee (Davis Motorhomes), and Wisconsin (Kings Campers). Your best bet might be to order a new one.

For used, either find out what the MSRP was for the coach as equipped or ask the previous owner what he paid for it (exclusive of tax). Subtract 7% for the first year and 5% for each year thereafter. That will be close to what the coach is worth.

REDs are very popular coaches but not up to the same level of amenities as the Phaeton or the Allegro Bus. Look for models with the Allison 3000 transmission which will give you a towing limit of 10,000 lbs.

We loved our RED and probably would have kept it if it had the 360hp engine with the 3000 Allison transmission, which is standard now in the REDs. The 340/2500 combination we had was barely adequate in the hills. The coach itself was very nice and we had only a couple of minor problems with it.

We went with Davis and dealt with Bill Hardy. Very easy to deal with and accommodating.

It was about 10 weeks from the time the the order being accepted by Tiffin to delivery to Sherman RV. We needed an extra 3+ weeks to arrange flight and travel plans and docs. (coming from the Dominican Republic). Now only 8 days to go!

We ought our new Red 37PA through Beth Moreng at Marlin Ingram in Montgomery. Great price and very easy to deal with. Wouldn't hesitate to do business with her again. Have been very happy with the coach so far.

Sherman, Ingram, and Davis are the big three and basically set the standards for other dealers. The big guys (la Mesa, General, Lazy days, North Trail and others) because of over head and I think sometimes greed cannot come close to these guys. There ares a couple of others in the Western part of the country that do a good job as well.

Campers Inn said the best they could do on a 2018 open road was 20%. They said that the higher discounts are only on entry level brands.

Find a new dealer. However do note at the afore mentioned big three or anywhere else you can no longer order 2018 models but can order 2019. So if you are looking at 2018 you will most likely have to deal with a dealer with one in stock.
