Hello all, new to the forum and also motorhomes. I currently have a 06' Doubletree Elite Suite 5'er for sale and I'm very interested in an Allegro Bus.
We're looking primarily for an 09' 40 footer but have a few questions about the models.

Some models have the residential refrigerator directly behind the front seats. Personally as someone who does not own such a model, I'd think that the frig would give off some heat while driving down the road making it uncomfortable for anyone up front.

Am I wrong on this idea or is there any truth to that. Regardless, we're looking for a 40 QXP model, but they're somewhat hard to find.

Thanks!

Big River -

I've owned two DP's now, a 40 footer and a 42 footer and I would suggest to you that most coaches of this size will not stay cool on a hot humid day like we have here in the south with nothing but the dash air running and the location of the refridgerator is not a serious factor. If you want to stay nice and cool, you run the generator and the ceiling air, and then it does not matter where the refer is.

That said, I'm somewhat familiar with the later model Allegro Bus models and the domestic refer option and given all the problems associated with the use of absorption refers and the overall poor efficiencies of those units, I'd take the domestic refer option and would not worry about what heat it gives off. I can assure you that's the way I'm going on my next coach. Only observation I would offer is that the hokey refer door latch that Tiffen came up with on the 2009 models I've seen leaves a bit to be desired, but I think they cleaned that up on the 2010's and 2011's.

Thanks for the reply Dan.

I've been in discussion with a friend of mine that has a 40' Allegro Bus. He also operates his generator and roof air's as you had advised in keeping the coach comfortable while driving.

I've not yet decided on a floor plan, yet alone sell my Doubletree 5'er, but as I've noticed the various models and seeing the frig next to the forward seats, I was concerned about any heat issues.

Once I sell the 5'er, I'll look more aggressively as to whats available on the market. Should I find a forward galley design, I won't hesitate in considering the purchase.

Thanks again for your opinion.
