2003 Phaeton 40' has three coaxial wires above the DVD player. one tagged "TO SAT."... understandable this goes to the W unit on the roof. Second says "TO TV"... I would think this goes to the multi-function box for TV1, 2 or VCR...is this correct? Third wire says "TO SAT TRIPOD"... I have searched the unit over and cannot find the other end of this wire.. The only thing I do find is in the first door of the cargo, pass side, there is a W connection. Is this the other end for the tripod or an additional conn for a third TV?? Any help would be appreciated.

Try your inquiry on the tiffinrvnetwork forum. You might try the "search" forums method as I've seen this one asked before. I think your plumbing bay might have a coax jack for cable & tripod infeed. The passenger side you mentioned is for an outside entertainment TV set.

The "to tripod" wire loom might just terminate behind one of the basement coax outlets & not be hooked up [ Intended for a dual-use outlet, while a single use outlet cover was installed during manufacture]. Most likely cause...I believe, as I've seen a dual plate labeled for cable vs tripod in the wet bay compartment.

Best way to test is to hook up a temporary signal source to your basement jack and route the labeled end "to tripod" into another Tv set. Then, test each jack one-by-one. I believe you have another jack not yet discovered.

If you have a need for a tripod, you might use one of the current coax jacks provided the cabinet end termination has no splitter in the line. Do research for a diplexer for how it passes-thru a signal. Alternatively, you can run a new dedicated tripod coax wire to the location of your choice & terminate it in the cabinet. I've done this in-lieu-of fussing with the spaghetti wiring mess. I ran from new jack under front cap, up the windshield A-pillar and terminated in the overhead media cabinet.

I encountered a similair problem while changing out our TV's. Some additional coax's had been added by PO during Winegard install. By chance I called Don Boyd (256-356-0261 X 3290)at Tiffin and within minutes I had a hand drawn schematic via email. Answered my questions and solved my problems.

Ditto on calling Tiffin. I, too, requested & was faxed a wiring sketch for my model that showed the entertainment wiring schematic along with the color coded identification of the terminating cable ends.

I would make this my starting point, If I were you. No need to go into this wiring jungle completely blind, with no clue as to what cable goes where.
