Mel: You should read your post # 12 again. You did not say that your coach was wired that way. You said the 12 volts was off either way when the switch was turned off. Had you said that it was that way on your coach, I would never had made my statement about you being wrong.
I only worked on a couple of Safari's in my fifteen years as service manager. I have no knowledge of how it is wired.

I guess I should have said:

When the "salesman switch" is OFF the 12V to nearly all of the house lights and appliances is OFF whether the coach has 120VAC power or not....(but only on any any coach I've owned, on the coach I own now, and on any other coach I am familiar with).
However Tiffin coaches my be wired differently.

'96 Safari
No problem. My Pace Arrow is parked next to my garage while I am doing a complete brake overhaul. I went out to it and turned on the ceiling 12 v light. I hit the 12v disconnect and heard it click. The light stayed on. I unplugged the 30 amp plug and the light went off. To tell the truth I remembered this but had never tried it on my personnel coach.
