Quick question

Are the steps powered by the chassis or house batteries?

Chassis on mine. I can disconnect the house batteries, and the step still functions. I think it's because they wanted the step to retract when the engine starts, no matter what.

I suspected that is the case. I had to take the chassis batteries out because I think they're dead and the steps were out. Now I can't get them to retract. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Just visited our 2018 Allegro in storage, house batteries totally disconnected at the battery tray, the steps did not come out. But did not start the engine. Will try that next week when there.

On the Wayfarer steps are tied into the chassis battery.

On both our Phaeton and Allegro RED they are connected to the house batteries. They operate with the chassis batteries disconnected.

Now confirmed, on our Tiffin the steps are powered by the chassis batteries.
