It sounds like water is puddling on top of your slide and coming in with the slide when it is retracted. The top of the slide on our Allegro Bay is angled downward slightly, which would allow any water that gets under the slide topper to run off.
I think there is supposed to be a wiper at the top to sweep any water off as the slide retracts. It could be that the wiper has deteriorated or needs to be adjusted. I would get op on a ladder on the outside and watch for gaps under the wiper as someone inside pulls the slide in.
I have also seen people who don't have slide toppers climb up on the roof and sweep leaves and water off the top of their slides before they pull them in. While this is better than getting wet, it's not a good solution because not everybody is comfortable climbing up on the roof and it can also be slippery after a rain. If your Allegro doesn't have a slide topper, you may want to consider adding one.
