New coach owner suffered "up close" meeting with campground fence post causing scratches + bay door aluminum damage. Hoping to have RB repair this coming April while stopping by for factory tour. I see suggestions re:appt v express (damage will include repainting lower section of 2012 Phaeton + door fix)...anyone have experience with body damage repair @ RB ? Is body/painting done @ factory or referred to "after-hour" employees?
I've also contacted Brannon re modifications..he seems quite nice and accomadating but ....Appreciate any insights...Thanks

I don't know about Red Bay, but I banged a door on my Newmar and got an estimate from the insurance and then sent pictures to factory before it was repaired so no surprises. If you think it only a couple of hundred bucks think again. They replaced the door and repaint. My total was right at $7,000.

I just had a 4 inch scratch repaired in the rear cap for $1,200. Nothing is cheap to repair.

Hate to admit it but I clipped a "road border" rock (boulder) making a right turn in a CG in Gettysburg a few years ago (tell me again why some CG's place these things on the edges of their roads??). Caught three panels in front of rear wheel well including a door badly. I got the panels straightened, filled and painted with 3 colors for $1000 at a local body shop. I can't tell the difference from the undamaged side. When I told the shop I was paying and not turning the incident in to my insurance, the price went way down. Word of caution...if you need a new compartment door, be prepared to pay a bunch more.

I'd call Bruce Deaton of Custom Paint & Auto Body, 200 2nd Street NW,Red Bay, AL 35582-3860 @ Phone: (256) 356-5695. I have not used him but he has a fine reputaion and does overflow work for Tiffin on occasion.

I ruined a bay on door on my 01 Zephyer, I called the factory and they made me a new door, $250, Bruce Deaton replaced and painted the door for about $250 I would use Bruce for any paint or damage repair. It will be a lot cheaper and faster.

I have used Tiffin's body shop for warranty work and Bruce Deanton's place for private work.

Bruce Dean would be my first choice for repairs, followed by Red Bay Body and last on my list is Tiffin Body Shop. My two cents.

Bruce Deaton of Custom Paint & Auto Body does excellent work. He has done body work and paint on our last Phaeton and we were very happy with the price, quality of work and timeliness of completion.

Brannon of Custom RV is a perfectionist who used to work for TMH for 14 years before opening his own shop over 2 years ago. He did a ton of work for us and I'd recommend him highly. Word of advice though ... make your appointment ASAP as he is constantly busy and books months in advance.

The Tiffin body shop at Red Bay is always very busy. We wanted to have the top of our front cap repainted because of peeling clear coat, and they told us it would take 3 weeks to get us in.

Tiffin referred us to McKinney RV Body Shop. They got us in within a couple of days and did an excellent job at a reasonable price.

I have not used Bruce Deaton, but he also has an excellent reputation. Tiffin is currently farming out paint work for their roof radii repairs to Bruce. If he is busy, consider McKinney.
