rear satellite receiver install

We have a 2012 Phaeton QTH with a DISH receiver in the front which supplies all four TVs. I would like to install a separate receiver in the bedroom. There are now the following cables in the cabinet below the TV :HDMI,coax labelled SAT, and three RCA cables colored R,Y & W.

When I attached these cable to the receiver, there was no apparent effect. Must I access the tv, and attach the other ends of these cables to the tv for a successful install ? If so, how do I access the back of the TV ?

Can someone please suggest a solution ? Thanks.

You must connect the Receiver to the antenna obviously and also the TV. Then you must change the input on the TV to accept the output from the receiver.

Connect the HDMI cable to the sat receiver. Change the input on the TV to HDMI (might have more than one, try them all.) Turn the receiver on. If you see the receiver menus, etc, you're set there.

Then you need to make sure that cable marked "Sat" is actually connected to the satellite dish.

First:
Your mid-cabin TV is prewired with the component cable (RGB) and possibly with the HDMI cable as well. You need to turn on the TV and select the input (Satellite, HDMI, etc.) Then turn on the sat receiver and you should see something on the screen.

Second:
Which satellite antenna do you have? If you have a dome, only one of the receivers can control the satellite. The second receiver has to be setup as a slave unit. (you might want to ask this question on the Tiffinrvnetwork.com site as it is a pretty common question). On check your manuals.

If you have a Trav'ler antenna, you pretty much plug in the receiver and do a check switch.
