RED 33A Tire Pressure
Recently brought our new 2018 Allegro Red 33AA home and ride was pretty rough. Discovered that the tires were inflated to 120#, the maximum printed on the tire. It will probably be some time before I can get it weighed and tires properly inflated. Can some of you 33AA owners let me know what pressures you are running so I can have some idea of where to start until it is weighed. Thanks in advance

I think it would be unwise to use someone else's weights to set your tire pressures. Many truck stops have CAT scales and you can get axle weights then use the following popular method.
Weigh the mh with full fuel, appx 1/3 to 1/2 fresh water and empty holding tanks. Have what you would generally carry with you on trips, including co-pilot.
Take the axle weight, add 10% to compensate for unbalanced loads, then divide by two and go into the tire mfr chart to get your tire weights, then add another 5psi for safety.

Until you get it weighed, it is safe to use the pressures listed on the Federal Tire Placard inside your RV (on/near the drivers seat/door).

One should use proper pressure per weight. If weight unknown, set to max on sidewall. There are lots if placed to get weighed. Farm and garden supply, etc. Google public scales in your area.

The max psi of 120 is just that, the MAXIMUM air pressure for that tire. I run my 33aa at 105 all around. As others have noted, getting your coach weighed and using the Michelin website to identify the optimum tire pressure is your best bet but you will experience improved ride and handling by reducing 15lbs. from the max psi.

You should do 4 corner weigh, you may find heavy ps front due to propane, door, and kitchen. May be 500 lbs or more which will effect your required tire pressures, unless you balance it better by tweaking ride height.

People, he already knows that he needs to get his rig weighed and set pressures accordingly. UNTIL then, his best option is to use the pressures listed on the Federal Tire Placard inside his coach. THOSE pressures are based on HIS rig's maximum GAWR's. Don't use the pressure listed on the tire; that number is for the maximum weight that the TIRE can carry regardless of what vehicle it's on, and has absolutely no relation to HIS specific rig.

Snyderwheels, Correction. Max pressure as listed on the sidewall is NOT the max pressure that will cause the tire to blow up. Max pressure is the pressure needed in the tire to carry the max WEIGHT as listed on the sidewall.
Now you know

Agreed. The listed pressures will inflate the tires to slightly above the axle weight limits. If it helps you sleep at night add 5 or 10% extra to account for cooler temps that happen this time of the year, even in Florida. Until you can get the coach weight checked try and keep the amount of stuff you pack in at a minimum.
For my coach (wish I had a Red but budget won't support) I've got much more capacity in the tires then I do in the axles. My normal loaded axle weights are well under maximum plus the pressure charts do not drop low enough into my weight range. As such I use placard pressures.

Definitely weigh the coach as others said and if your lucky get a 4 corner weight. Until then go by 4x4 recommendations. Tiffin rates your coach F GAWR at 12 K and R 20K , Tire size 275/80 R 22.5 and if outfitted with the Michelins XZE tires there chart suggests you could go 95 psi R 100 psi F and still have the 5 % extra psi.
At 120 psi I'm sure it was a horrible ride. Plus your coach will steer better and handle uneven road surface much better with less psi.

Thanks to all of you. This is the first motorhome we have owned that did not come with the Federal Tire placard attached to the wall by the drivers seat so finding a good/safe starting point was confusing especially since it was delivered with 120#. I will lower the pressure to 105# (seems safe) until I get the unit weighed next month and then adjust accordingly.

Look for the placard on your entry door frame..........

We had an Allegro RED 33AA and the ride was pretty rough even after we properly inflated the tires. But that pressure does seem a little high, so it will improve a little.
