Red QFA, should I be worried?

Hello everyone, we have put a deposit down on a 2011 Red Qfa, 20,000 miles on odometer. We are 800 miles away so we are buying sight unseen. The salesman did tell us that they are repairing two cracks in the fiberglass and found a leak in one of the slides and are replacing the flooring that had water damage. Other than that the coach seems like a good price and is exactly what we wanted. I have been doing a lot of research and know that coaches have problems and most are fixable. Being new at this and this being our first coach, should we move forward if the repairs are done correctly or should we run? We appreciate your expert advice. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend finding a reliable mobile RV tech to perform a pre-purchase survey of the Red before going forward. Then either you or your spouse needs to go and look at the unit in person. You also need a report from a Cummins dealer about the engine. You are making a big decision spending money making sure the unit is sound is cheap insurance.

We just came from the Tiffin Red Bay factory. We watched several of the floors being replaced using an in-house stationery crane to remove the slide and replace the floor. I would be skeptical of any dealer who said they had that kind of equipment to make that repair. Suggest you call the Tiffin factory and talk to an expert and ask what to look for in that repair.

Are you serious? Run away as fast as you can! I hope you can get your deposit back.

Yes, we are planning on getting an inspection done. I guess my question is how do you know when purchasing a preowned coach what repairs have been done in the past? At least this dealership was honest with me and told me about the condition of the coach before we got to town.

A trained RV surveyor should pick up obvious repairs and a Cummins tech should be able to download the engines repair history. Please purchase a cheap flight and look at the unit before going to far. I have flown across the country to look at used sailboats and RVs only to be massively disappointed in person. Shocked is actually more to the point.
