Refrigerator in 36-ft Open Road with bunks

We have a 36-ft open road with bunks. We love everything about the coach... except the very small refrigerator. It is a single door Dometic and not very deep. It sits between the two passenger-side slides so we cannot get anything wider but could we get one that was deeper?

You best bet might be to find a location to add one of the small dorm size electric refrigerators. Maybe you can place it in a corner or under the table.

Get the opening measurements it sits in. And add any more height " that can be cut out and used. Then search for a residential one that will fit.

Replacing your Dometic with a larger refrigerator or a residential type one will not be cheap but it can be done. The newer Allegro 36 LA models have an option for a residential fridge, so I would guess that the 35 QBA that you have can be adapted for one.

With that said, I would suggest that you check with Brannon Hutcheson who lives and works in Red Bay where your coach was built. He is a former Tiffin employee who now works on his own. You could check over on the Tiffinrvnetwork for comments about how good his work is and how honest a man he is.

Brannon can be contacted at customrvinc@yahoo.com. Good luck.

We have the 34' TGA and we have the same issue with the Frig in our 2012. If we keep this Coach we are looking at putting a Frig/Freezer in on of our Bays. We were on the Road this summer for 3 months and that was an issue for us. We are wanting more Freezer. We are looking at one's that you can change to one or the other. I could see with kids you would need more Frig. Good Luck. I would love a bigger frig in the Coach but looking at it i am not sure how it could be done. JMHO.
