Removing couch

I have a 2011 Phaeton 40' with two couches, I am thinking about taking out the couch that is on the passenger side and replacing with a Lazy Boy recliner.

Has anyone else done this, what is the ease and "estimated" cost.

Thanks,

Lots of people have done this. Cost? - it depends on how much you do yourself. You may have to take your couch apart to remove it. The best bet is to ask your question at tiffinrvnetwork.com - where you will find many more Tiffin owners willing to share how to do this with you.

I removed the couch from our Allegro Bay. It was bolted to the floor with four bolts. I did also remove the back which was simple with two bolts. This made getting it out the door easier. We bought a "Catnapper" recliner at a furniture store for around $450. The furniture store delivered it free and also took the old couch to a local donation site for free. I was able to clam a tax credit with the stores non profit receipt. I left one set of seat belts (the back set) to secure the recliner while on the road. I simply wrap the belt around the metal recliner frame.

good luck.

We have that couch setup in a 2007 Allegro Bus. You can keep the couch in place. Go out and buy a Ekorn Stressless recliner chair, and you can set it midships when you are parked, facing any way you want. We store it between the dining table and the LH couch when rolling, and stack the diner chairs at the table. Works great for us, and that is a much better chair, with an ottoman.
