Residential Fridge

Hello gang.
We never had a residential fridge before and we do a lot of dry camping.
Our new RED is in production and should be in San Diego just before Christmas. And for our model the residential is standard.
So what is the power usage of these bad boys? How many amp hours does it use in a 24 hour period given normal usage? Trying to figure how long I need to run the genny to keep the batteries up.
Thanks
Dan

Lots of variables. Usually a couple hours in the morning while preparing breakfast and again when preparing the evening meal. Check again a hour or so before quiet time to see if needed to top off for the night. This candance should give a starting point to see what works for you.

I upgraded my 2010 Red with Samsung res frig from a notcold. I also upgraded to 6 batts. Very happy. We run gen similar to the last post. We dry camp some and have not had any problems.

We installed a Samsung in place of our NoCold. High efficient unit and pulls 3 amp max during cool down. 3 amps on the 120 = 30 amps on the battery pack. I ran a watt meter for three days to find the real "running" wattage/amps. The running was only 1.8 average. So, I installed a 800 watt Renergy solar system with a 60 amp commander charge controller. On several trips we only had to run the genny for 1 hour out of 3 weeks with 70% full sunlight. I didn't record it but the micro wave pulls much and I think that was the reason for genny need(heating left overs). Solar is the way to go. The kit had everything included except basic hand tools. I was very happy with the kit quality and ability to view the charge and battery status
